Hello,
few questions here..
I found a kool tilemap on yahoo images.. it has a bunch of images all in one image, but my problem is i do not know how to use that image and get them usable to make a map.
I am using Slick and I know there is a way, but typing in tile map tutorial in yahoo only brings up code and cokes tutorial and it doesnt actually use an image..
any ideas as to where I might find a good tutorial or even an example source code on how to break down an image and use it as a tile map?
also, I remember when i was first learning about java a few years back (i got frustrated and gave up back then) that in order to have smooth games you needed to use double buffering, but I dont hear about that or see it in any tutorials, is that still nessesary? how about in slick, should I be double buffering in slick?
Thank you for any help on these.
