removing console window that GTK ,is it possible?

I've been annoyed for a while by the illusive console window,that's why I tried some GUI libraries out,after deciding to use GTK,
as it is very simple to use,but somehow the illusive console window made it back into my life,
whenever running any GTK app there is always an ugly windows console,
it makes you're application look un professional.

So I was wandering is there anyway to stop GTK from opening a console window? More specifically when writing in c and (obviously) on windows?
